Some months ago I had a call from a client asking for help fixing their blog as the guy who had created it had disappeared off to America. “What’s a blog?” I asked myself (not out loud of course) and realised that the client was talking about some sort of content management system. He was also quite insistent that blogging was the way to go. With a large dose of cynicism I boldy dived in and built a CMS. So much for listening to our clients! If only I had made the effort then to work out that systems such as Wordpress and Moveable Type were so well developed and so powerful and customisable I could have saved myself a load of time, created a far better solution for a needy client, and been out there blogging myself!

Still, I quickly came to my senses and can proudly boast my own blog and a couple of clients (so far) also using them. So, if you haven’t joined the party yet and feel you are ready to, let me know and I can set you on your way.
